Modesto officials have posted notices in Moose Park alerting residents to possible sewage contamination that stemmed from a backed-up pipe at a Johnson Avenue house Monday evening.
Deputy Public Works Director Gary DeJesus said the city recovered about 70 gallons of sanitary waste from a storm drain, but up to 220 gallons could have been discharged to Dry Creek.
The city is conducting tests to determine the extent of the contamination.

DeJesus it's likely the effects were minimal because only one home was involved in the discharge.
