Police on Wednesday were looking for three thieves who robbed a gas station at gunpoint Tuesday night in Modesto's La Loma neighborhood, getting away with some merchandise and an undisclosed amount of money.
No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported, said Sgt. Rick Armendariz, a Modesto police spokesman.
The armed robbery occurred about 7:50 p.m. at a Valero gas station in the 100 block of North Santa Cruz Avenue, just north of Yosemite Boulevard.
Armendariz said the thieves were wearing masks, and one of them was armed with a gun when they entered the business. He said they demanded cash from an employee before they left with the money and the merchandise.
The robbers were last leaving in a dark-colored vehicle heading toward La Loma Avenue. Police ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 521-4636.
