Coloma forum to feature El Dorado County supervisor candidates

The eight candidates for El Dorado County’s District 4 supervisor seat will be featured in a forum April 30 at the Gold Trail Grange in Coloma.
Scott McNeil, Tim Palmer, Lori Parlin, Howard Penn, Mike Pettibone, Winston Pingrey, Michael Ranalli and Dave Souza are vying to represent the district, which covers most of the northern part of the county, including the communities of Cool, Pilot Hill, Georgetown, Garden Valley, Greenwood, Kelsey, Mosquito, Rescue, Lotus, Coloma. It also covers portions of Cameron Park, Shingle Springs and El Dorado Hills.
The district currently is represented by Ron Briggs, who cannot seek re-election due to term limits.
The public will have an opportunity to meet and greet the candidates at 7 p.m. Presentations will begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session.
Gold Trail Grange is located at 319 Highway 49. Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park will provide free parking for the event in the Sutter’s Mill lot.
