TODD FREDERICK: Drones threaten rights

I voted for President Barack Obama, primarily for social welfare issues (such as health care), but have a serious issue with a current program: drones.

I recently heard commentary that drones are being used to destroy military targets in and around locations in Afghanistan that the military thinks may house terrorists, and people and vehicles are being destroyed without certain knowledge of who those people are.

This is outrageous and I think it could be an impeachable offense if authorized by the president.

I understand that such attacks have been authorized, without due process, against American citizens who the military thinks may be linked to terrorist groups. I also hear that such surveillance is proposed for use in the United States.

Am I the only one outraged by this invasion of our privacy and rights to due process, and what may be a violation of the rules of war according to the Geneva Convention? Any thoughts on this?
