In response to Richard H. Lewis' letter, "Growing a backbone," I do agree with Leonard Pitts Jr. that Rep. Maxine Waters used pretty strong words when she said the "Tea party can go to hell." But I'm sure that is the same opinion millions of Americans have about the tea party.
The remarks about who does not pay taxes (Rep. Waters' constituents) and the remark about his/our president of the United States (President Obama) not believing in the Constitution are words of a racist and bigot. I say that because all three names (Obama, Waters and Pitts) that he mentioned are people of color, black Americans.
Your ugly conservative remark of the entitlement class (though disguised) was directed at America's people of color, poor people and welfare recipients.
Are veterans the entitlement class? Are the unemployed millions the entitlement class? Are the single mothers with children the entitlement class? Are the disabled the entitlement class? Should they be denied the entitlements?
