Paul D. Jensen: Gun laws don't work

The Merced Sun-Star of April 1 is a prime example of the simple fact that, all the gun laws which our simpleton do-gooders and inane legislators want to pass are of no influence on the criminal-minded. Page A-1, three dead in shooting; Page A-2, would-be thieves and group of robbers; Page A-6, DA, wife found dead; etc.

We have evolved a brainwashed society wherein the makers of movies, video games, and such items not only promote mayhem, violence, and murder; but often appear to glorify such ideas.

Most any intelligent person can tell you that if you subject anyone to any item long enough, that item will eventually become normal to the individual.

Until such time as our do-gooders and legislators can get the picture all such gun/weapon laws will just be words on a piece of paper and the innocent will continue to suffer hurt and death.

New laws are definitely not the answer. The teaching of the biblical Ten Commandments (or something very similar) not only to Christians; but to all individuals just might be a step in the right direction.
