The Fourth of July is a time for celebrating our independence from corrupt and intrusive government. So why is it that one of the candidates for Merced County supervisor was allowed to set up their campaign activities in the taxpayer-funded WIC office during the annual Atwater parade?

I observed a stream of people wearing Tony Dossetti T-shirts being let in to the air-conditioned office, with no sign of the building being open for the public use.

I would love to hear an explanation on why as a taxpayer I am helping fund Dossetti's campaign efforts.
