On Nov. 2, the Merced SPCA held its first “Free Over Three” adoption event. Dogs and cats ages three and over were adopted free after home visits and approval of applications. Several pets were adopted that day and it was gratifying to see them finally have families to call their own.
I’d like to thank the adopters and to send many kudos to my committee of workers who brainstormed, planned and worked that day to see that it was successful.
We are very encouraged by the reception of this idea and plan to hold another “Free Over Three’’ adoption in the spring at our no-kill shelter located at 1021 E. Childs Avenue. We hope that many more animal lovers will come out and provide deserving pets with warm, loving homes.
