In defense of Phil Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” fame: Who amongst us doesn’t have an elder (Phil is 67) whose points of view are out of step with the culture of urban elites? Know them by their fruits, indeed. The left presupposes its moral superiority on matters of tolerance, yet unleashed epic volumes of bile and spittle toward rural America, the underlying message being that everyone residing between Manhattan and Los Angeles is a troglodyte. If that’s tolerance, well, then clear a space for me at the Robertson dinner table. I want to break bread with my fellow troglodytes.
