Supervisor John Pedrozo was correct to release Brenda Valenzuela-Porras. Her mistake was using poor judgment and being irresponsible. She checked out a taxpayers’ vehicle under conditions that could have made the county liable had an accident happened. His poor judgment was attempting to defend a low-level, part-time employee who had been stopped for a DUI. Her position, nor any other for that matter, did not warrant the extensive defense he forged. Personal business is not county business.
