Atwater City Councilman Larry Bergman has made a proposal to place term limits on the next election cycle to be voted on by citizens. The majority of the council has not jumped at the idea. I have seen the city grow and provide necessary services by volunteer councils who chose to serve without pay or reimbursement. We have seen recent councils spend the surplus and not spend the income to provide funding for staffing and equipping the police and fire departments.

Contact the council and tell them to allow the term limits idea to be voted on by the citizens.
