I have never written a letter to the editor before, but I felt this action warranted it. I won’t go into details but the past three years have been beyond miserable, with losses of my father, job, marriage and also money and moving issues, etc. The following is what prompted this letter.
While waiting in a McDonald’s drive-through, I was scrounging through my purse for loose change. When I pulled up to pay, I was told by the McDonald’s employee that the car ahead of me had paid for my lunch.
I don’t think I know you, but thank you! Thank you for making a mundane task – lunch – feel special. Thank you for helping out when it was greatly needed. I will try to pass on the sunshine you created. But, mostly, thank you for a smile!
