Unfortunately when the city of Merced hired Yardmasters to “mow” the city’s lawns, it didn’t foresee the major damage the company would do to our lawn areas, parks and bike path greenbelts. First, they were allowed to cut the grass down to its roots, then allowed it to go to seed. Any farmer could have predicted the next catastrophe! Our entire city now is covered in dandelions, crabgrass and unwanted weeds! To save a lousy buck, Merced will most likely (if history serves) pay millions (we all know how Merced lays down for contractors with a fancy line of bull) to restore the damage done not only to city property but to countless private homes all along the bike paths – including ours!
