Chenoweth School, in northeast Merced, held its end-of-year open house May 21. The dedication of the teaching staff was in full display!
The walls of the all-purpose room had been transformed into huge murals with samples from each student in the school. There were stories and pictures painted, all indicating pride in their school.
In the classrooms, parents and students were greeted by their teachers, with never-ending smiles. On every desk there was a portfolio of work completed from the first day to the present by the student assigned to that desk. The portfolios were presented to parents to take home.
We all know it takes more than a “village.” We also thank the office staff, maintenance, aides, crossing guards, volunteers and, above all, the parents who are willing to help the students with oodles of homework.
Never miss a local story.
Chenoweth School also has its own version of the 3 R’s, Mrs. Richards, Mrs. Rucker and Mrs. Ruiz!
