No injuries were reported Monday night after shots were fired in the 100 block of West 12th Street, according to Merced police.
Details about the incident, which was reported around 9:30 p.m., are sketchy.
A 20-year-old man was standing in the front yart of the residence when the shooting happened. Lt. Bimley West said three people walked up the house, and two members of the group brandished guns and fired. One bullet struck a house, West said, but the 20-year-old man wasn't hit.
The shooters fled on foot, and police found casings at the scene. West said the area is known for gang activity.
The shooters are described as being Latino men, between 24 and 27 years old. One of the shooters was around 5-feet-5-inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds, while the other was about 5-feet-6-inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds. A description of the third person in the group isn’t available.
