17-year-old boy injured in Los Banos shooting

Police are looking for three people believed to be involved in a gang-related shooting Friday.

The Los Banos Police Department responded to the 1100 Block of Pacheco Boulevard at 8:07 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived on the scene and found a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

Witnesses reported seeing two Hispanic males and one Hispanic female leaving the area in a gold sedan, police said. Officers reportedly found the vehicle abandoned a few blocks away from where the victim was shot.

No further description of the suspects was provided by police.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a Modesto area hospital where he remains in stable condition. Law enforcement said the incident occurred because of a disagreement.

"We believe this incident was gang related and began after a verbal argument between the suspects and the victim," Cmdr. Ray Reyna Jr. said. "There were several citizens in the area but thankfully none of them were injured."
