Homicide reported in Chowchilla

Madera County sheriff's deputies reported the homicide of an 18-year-old man Saturday night near the Pilot Truck Stop in Chowchilla.

The victim suffered a fatal gunshot wound during a party held on Avenue 18 ½ near Road 21 Saturday night. His name is not being released, according to Erica Stuart, sheriff’s spokesperson.

Stuart said no further details are available about the death, which is the fifth homicide reported in Madera County this year.

Deputies are asking anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call (559) 675-7770 or CrimeStoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
