SPCA meets monthly

The Merced Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals meets the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 500 Buena Vista Drive, except when the first Monday is a holiday. Call (209) 723-8953 or (209) 384-7722.

Big Valley Travel Club

Honoring Veterans

The Merced Unit of American Legion Auxiliary will honor veterans and members of the Armed Forces by displaying a yard flag with inscription of the name of the warrior you want to honor on four holidays: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Veterans Day. To order a flag for your warrior call (209) 658-3306 or (209) 722-8233. Flags are $10 each.

Memorial Day Ceremony

LIVINGSTON — The Livingston/Delhi Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 8327 and the Ladies Auxiliary will host their annual Memorial Day ceremony at 5 p.m. on Monday at the Livingston Memorial Park on the corner of Park and Main streets. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony in the Veterans Memorial Building at the corner of 7th and Peach streets. Call (209) 394-2059.

PAL theater program

The deadline for the Free Atwater Theater Program applications has been extended. There are 10 seats left and applications should be mailed to or dropped off at 750 Bellevue Road no later than May 30 at 4 p.m. Call (209) 617-3994.

Community blood drive

LIVINGSTON — The Livingston-Delhi Veterans of Foreign Wars and Ladies Auxiliary will host a Community Blood Drive from 3 to 7 p.m. on June 13 at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 1605 7th St. Donate a pint of blood and receive a coupon meal served by the Ladies Auxiliary. Lions Breakfast Club

The Merced Breakfast Lions Club maintains a series of drop-off locations for old, unused, prescription eyeglasses or hearing aids. Drop off at the offices of Drs. David Baba and Paul Smith, the Save Mart at Olive and G streets or the optical departments Costco or Wal-Mart. Castle Air Museum

ATWATER — The Castle Air Museum Foundation is a nonprofit organization that is seeking volunteers. People interested in guided tours for schools and clubs, special events, and the hours of operation can call (209) 723-2178.
