A Merced County Superior Court judge has upheld a 2007 ruling ordering the city of Merced to pay two employees back wages for work they performed that was outside their job descriptions.
Judge Ronald Hansen ruled in March 2007 that the city owed two information technology employees higher wages dating back several years. The city filed objections, but Hansen issued a decision earlier this month reaffirming most of his original finding. The city is now deciding whether to appeal; the ruling won’t be final until Hansen issues a final judgment.
