12:30 p.m: The truck exploded into flames around 11:18 a.m. Eighteen Merced County CalFire firefighters responded to the scene. No injuries were reported. The cause of the explosion is under investigation. The resulting fire destroyed one truck and heavily damaged a second big rig parked nearby. Firghters had the fire contained in about 8 minutes.
