LIVINGSTON -- The Atwater Aviators will play its first home game away from Memorial Ballpark tonight. The Aviators, a second-year wooden bat collegiate team, will host the Monterey Baysox at Alvernaz Field in Livingston. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. Until tonight, every Aviators home game has been contested at Atwater's majestic community field. Owner and general manager Richard Ruiz says this is just the start of "roving home games" across Merced County. "There's still a lot of people that don't know about us. We're trying to expand our foundation by going to the neighboring communities and playing for them," Ruiz said. "We don't know have the connections, so we're not sure how well the word is getting out. We'll see." Admission for tonight's game will be: $5 for adults; $3 for students and seniors; kids 12 and under are free. "Hopefully, we'll put on a show," Ruiz said.
