Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Pierria Henry netted a team-high 18 points with nine rebounds and eight assists as his Charlotte 49ers edged out a 90-86 overtime victory over the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes in Conference USA action at Halton Arena.
Denzel Ingram came off the bench to score 17 points, including 5-of-6 from 3- point range, for Charlotte (11-5, 2-1 C-USA). Terrence Williams chipped in 14 points and nine rebounds, while Mike Thorne Jr. added 13 and 11 boards for the double-double. Willie Clayton and Ben Cherry each contributed 10 points. Charlotte has won three of its last four contests.
Shaquille Harrison scored a game-high 26 points, adding seven rebounds and four assists with four turnovers for Tulsa (7-10, 2-1). Rashad Ray netted 19 points, and James Woodard added 13 with five rebounds. The loss breaks up a three-game winning streak for the Hurricanes.
The 49ers shot 52 percent from the floor in the first half, and took a 32-29 lead into the intermission. Tulsa shot 36.4 percent from the field in the frame.
Charlotte's shooting percentage dipped to 41.2 in the second half, as the Golden Hurricanes were able to tie it up at the end of 40 minutes, 70-70. Tulsa shot a much-improved 58.3 percent in the second half.
The 49ers hit 3-of-5 field goal attempts in the extra period, including 2-of-2 from 3-point distance. They also had the edge in free-throws, 6-4, in overtime.
Charlotte had the edge in rebounding, 47-37, in the contest. The 49ers also had the advantage in fast break points, 22-12.
