Salt Lake City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Brandon Taylor scored 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the Utah Runnin' Utes easily dismissed the Washington State Cougars, 81-63, in a Pac-12 Conference battle at the Huntsman Center.
Utah (16-7, 5-6 Pac-12) had a total of six players score in double figures as it won for the second time in as many games. The list continued with Jordan Loveridge with 13 points, Delon Wright 11 and nine assists, followed by Dallin Bachynski, Jeremy Olsen and Princeton Onwas with 10 points apiece.
The Cougars (9-14, 2-9) were paced by Devonte Lacy who dropped in a game-high 22 points, followed by DJ Shelton with 19 and 10 boards as they fell for the sixth time in seven games.
The Utes scored the first points of the night and never looked back, converting 56.7 percent from the floor in the first half, including 4-of-6 behind the 3-point line, en route to a 42-26 advantage at the break.
In the second half the hosts dipped to 48.0 percent accuracy, but also connected on 12-of-16 at the free-throw line in order to remain in control.
Washington State, which finished the contest shooting 38.9 percent from the field, was outscored in the paint by a 42-18 margin.
