San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Mark Tollefsen, Kruize Pinkins and Matt Glover all scored 16 points as the San Francisco Dons defeated the St. Mary's Gaels, 73-62, in a West Coast Conference matchup at War Memorial Gymnasium.
Tollefsen added six rebounds and four assist for the Dons (17-10, 10-5 WCC), while Glover chipped in six boards. Cole Dickerson netted 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds in the win, which was the third in four games for San Francisco.
Brad Waldow recorded a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 13 rebounds for St. Mary's (19-9, 9-6). Garrett Jackson came off the bench to contribute 13 points and seven boards. The Gaels have lost two games in a row.
San Francisco connected on 46.2 percent of its field goal tries in the first half, and took a 33-23 lead into the midway break. St. Mary's shot just 32.1 percent from the floor, including only 3-of-16 from 3-point range.
The Dons improved on their shooting touch in the second half, hitting 54.6 percent of their attempts, including a perfect 3-of-3 from deep, and 13-of-19 from the free-throw line. The Gaels improved to 46.7 percent shooting in the period, but couldn't make up any distance between them and San Francisco.
The Dons had the advantage from the free-throw line, 18-11, and in points off turnovers, 9-5. St. Mary's got more production from its bench, outscoring San Francisco, 27-5.
