(SportsNetwork.com) - Ohio State guard Amedeo Della Valle said Saturday he's leaving the Buckeyes to play professional basketball in Europe.
Della Valle, a sophomore, posted a message on Twitter that said he "wouldn't trade this experience with anything else" but that it was "time for me to begin a new experience."
An email to an Ohio State spokesman wasn't immediately returned Saturday.
Della Valle averaged 4.0 points and 1.8 rebounds in 33 games this season for the Buckeyes, who were knocked out of the NCAA Tournament by Dayton on Thursday.
Della Valle led Italy to the U20 Euro Championship last summer and was named MVP of the tournament.
