A look at Friday’s marquee high school football games:
ENOCHS (1-2) at MERCED (2-1):
The Bears try to bounce back from their first loss of the season. Errol Dennis is off to a fast start for Merced with 315 rushing yards and a touchdown on 37 carries. Enochs is playing its fourth Central California Conference team of the season.
LODI (0-2) at BUHACH COLONY (2-1):
A rematch of a first-round playoff game last year won by the Thunder 48-13. Led by Leon Miles (257 rushing yards and three touchdowns), Buhach Colony will look to get its ground game back on track.
LOS BANOS (3-0) at DOS PALOS (0-2):
The annual Westside War is always a fun matchup. Dos Palos will do what it can to try to slow down Los Banos star running back James Sams, who has already racked up 669 yards and 10 touchdowns.
PACHECO (2-1) at McNAIR (3-0):
With their first class of seniors, the Panthers are off to a good start. Pacheco’s Kalama Kamoku carried 10 times for 190 yards and three scores in a win over Dos Palos last week. McNair will lean on running back Jonathan Stark, who has rushed for 514 yards and five touchdowns.
MARIPOSA (0-2) at LIVINGSTON (2-1):
The Wolves stopped Le Grand’s 18-game regular season winning streak last week. Livingston likes to pound the ball with running back Brian Perez (276 rushing yards and five touchdowns).
