Pitman (4-0) at Merced (3-1) – The Pride is off to an impressive start against a tough nonconference schedule. Pitman features one of the top players in the Central California Conference in Devan Bass and the Pride defense is giving up only 17 points per game. Meanwhile, Merced is averaging 41 points in winning its last three games.
Golden Valley (4-0) at El Capitan (1-3) – The Cougars are off to their best start in years and have been relying heavily on running back Isaiah Montanez, who has racked up 683 rushing yards and nine touchdowns in four games. El Capitan has played Gregori and Fresno tough in losses the last two weeks. Gauchos quarterback Kevin Reid has thrown for 779 yards and eight touchdowns.
Buhach Colony (2-2) at Turlock (2-2) – The Thunder exploded for 69 points against Pacheco last week. Points might be a little harder to come by against a stout Bulldogs defense this week. Turlock has won two in a row after an 0-2 start. Bulldogs quarterback Danny Velasquez is one of the most dynamic players in the CCC.
Dos Palos (2-1) at Chowchilla (3-0) – The Broncos are coming off a tough last-minute loss after an emotional week. Chowchilla has been one of the most impressive teams after wins against Immanuel and Central Valley Christian. This game will be over early. Both teams will try to pound the ball on the ground.
Mariposa (1-2) at Delhi (3-0) – The Grizzlies have been in three offensive shootouts to start the season. Sophomore quarterback Colton Weidner completed 26 of 54 pass attempts for 298 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s loss to Yosemite. Delhi has three players with over 200 rushing yards in Jesse Flores, Alvin Prasad and Alecxis Miranda.
