Buhach Colony senior Rachel Hammar was a winner in the girls shot put with a toss of 39 feet.

SACRAMENTO -- The smile Buhach Colony's Rachel Hammar wore after her victory at Friday's Sac-Joaquin Section Division I track and field championships was a little forced.

Hammar won the shot put -- her specialty -- but the throw of 39 feet wasn't close to her best of 43-2.
