A 32-year-old woman who stabbed her husband to death at the Tioga Hotel last year pleaded no contest to an involuntary manslaughter charge Wednesday in Merced County Superior Court.
Attorneys on both sides say the husband's history of abuse toward his wife was a primary factor in the resolution of the case -- but they disagree about whether she stabbed him in self-defense.Merced police arrested Courtney Ross on July 11 after she fatally stabbed 25-year-old Jonathan Ross after an argument. The victim had three stab wounds to the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.
