The toolbox thief exacted his toll again Tuesday.
Employees of the Courtesy Chevrolet service department, 1405 W. Main St., discovered $6,400 worth of tools were taken and $18,000 damage done to toolboxes in burglaries that took place between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Lt. Floyd Higdon of the Merced Police Department said it is unknown if the Courtesy Chevrolet burglaries are related to eight incidents investigated over the weekend at the Razzari Ford service department on Auto Center Drive.

Higdon said entry to Courtesy Chevrolet was made through through a service department window.
Some mechanics had their individual toolbox entered and tools removed and others had attempts made to enter their toolbox.
