Halloween party turns scary after shooting

A Halloween party became a little more frightening than anticipated early Saturday morning when two people were wounded by gunfire while dancing at a home in the 2700 block of Saratoga Avenue.

Lt. Roger McIntyre of the Merced Police Department said one of the men was hit once in the leg and the other man was hit three times in the hip and left arm. They were taken by private vehicles to the Community Campus of Mercy Medical Center Merced. Neither of the victims' wounds was life-threatening. The victims' names and circumstances of the shooting were not available Sunday night.

The shooting took place at 1:50 a.m. Officer Jeff Horn discovered there were two victims who had been hit by gunfire. McIntyre said both victims were Asian male adults who said they had been at a Halloween party when shots were fired into a crowd dancing.
