ATWATER -- Coach Matt Thissen might want to turn over the halftime speeches to Porsha Grayson and Becky Morris.
Both took turns addressing their Golden Valley teammates before the start of the second half Thursday night.

Golden Valley erased a five-point halftime deficit with a 24-point third quarter on its way to a 60-49 win over Buhach Colony in the Central California Conference opener for both teams.
"We told everybody not to get frustrated," said Morris, who scored 15 of her 17 points in the second half.
"We just wanted to do what we do."
What GV did in the second half was take control of the ball and hit the shots that weren't falling in the first two quarters.
Grayson scored eight of her 14 points in the second half.
Center Shannon McMillin finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.
"It really was two totally different halves of basketball," Thissen said. "Porsha really is a great leader.
"She's one of those girls who hates to lose. She could play her best game, and if we lost, she'd be upset."
Buhach Colony (6-9) started the second quarter with a 10-0 run to take a 20-12 lead.
Cassie Kalapsa (16 points) and Aly Gleason (12) had little trouble getting open.
BC senior Brianna Fulkerson scored 10 points in her first game of the season after recovering from ACL surgery on her left knee.
In the second half, though, Buhach went cold and its press wasn't as effective.
"We let down in the third quarter," BC coach Jeff Rivero said. "Easy turnovers led to automatic points and it shifted momentum.
"We gave up too many easy money shots."
After surrendering the lead, Buhach did tie the score again at 47-47 with 6:32 left in the game.
However, GV closed things out with a 13-2 run.
Golden Valley helped itself at the free-throw line, making 16 of 22 in the game -- including 13 straight in the second half.
"Our free-throw shooting has been much like our season -- up and down," Thissen said. "We've had nights where we made them and we've had nights where we were cold.
"Tonight we made them, and it made a difference."
