ATWATER -- Keith Hunter's surgically repaired left knee was barking on Thursday.
The Golden Valley coach was feeling the pain after his countless sideline tirades during a gut-wrenching loss to Merced the previous night.
Hunter wore out his shoes stomping the floor in protest of the many whistles against his guys.
On Friday night, Hunter could have propped his feet up on a chair.

Hunter enjoyed a stomp-free night as GV cruised to a 63-38 win over Buhach Colony at the Thunder Dome.
"I almost went to the ice (Thursday)," Hunter said. "That's my body telling me I need to stop my childish displays. I did do a lot of stomping, but I was mad.
"We're at the point of the season where we're basically playing playoff games."
Golden Valley displayed why no team would feel comfortable playing Hunter's boys in the postseason.
GV (3-4 Central California Conference, 10-12 overall) ran up and down the court, zipping passes, sinking treys and playing very much the same style that earned a trip to UOP last year.
"That's the way we have to play," said guard Demarya Moody, who scored 15 points. "We have to play that way all the time."
BC coach Steve Abrams expected GV to come out strong after blowing a 16-point lead in the second half against Merced on Wednesday.
"They were fired up," Abrams said. "That's a testament to their coaches. They didn't quit on their kids."
Alex Fletcher gave GV a comfortable cushion early against Buhach.
The junior sharpshooter sank three treys in the first quarter and scored all 11 of his points as Golden Valley jumped out to a 23-10 lead.
BC (1-6, 7-15) never recovered.
John Sykes came alive in the second half and led Golden Valley with 16 points. Liataud Prophete added 11.
It's the type of scoring balance that could be scary come playoff time.
Golden Valley just has to find a way to climb its way back in the postseason hunt over its final five league games.
"I thought we had a great effort tonight," Hunter said. "All 32 minutes. I thought we made a step together tonight as men."
