Prep Roundup: Merced girls still rolling through conference

The Merced girls basketball team is on cruise control.

Alyssa Wright, Erika Marmolejo and Dalemesha Hill all scored 10 points apiece as Merced posted a ho-hum 68-28 victory against Buhach Colony on Tuesday night at Merced.

Nine different Merced players scored in a first half that ended with Merced ahead 39-10.

"Our pressure made a big difference in this game," Merced coach John Bliss said. "That's probably the biggest difference with our style of play."

Merced improved to 7-0 in the Central California Conference and 15-6 overall. Merced also extended its CCC winning streak to 19 straight.

Monica Keppard and Cassie Kalapsa both scored seven points for BC (3-4, 9-12).

TURLOCK -- Surman Purewall hit a shot from 18 feet out at the buzzer to give GV the overtime win.

Purewall and Porsha Grayson both finished with 17 points for Golden Valley (5-3 CCC, 12-11 overall).
