Two men were arrested late Wednesday night on burglary charges after sheriff's deputies responded to a burglar alarm at Stanislaus Farm Supply in the 600 block of South Highway 59.
Sgt. Jim Pacheco of the Merced County Sheriff's Department said a maroon Lexus four-door sedan sped away from the scene as he arrived at the scene about 11 p.m. and he caught them at Gerard Avenue and M Street. A computer monitor was stolen from the store.
Pacheco said a pry bar, bolt cutters and wire cutters were discovered in the Lexus.
Israel Barajas, 32, and Vincent Canal, 23, both of Merced, were arrested on charges of commercial burglary, possession of burglary tools and conspiracy. They were booked into Merced County Jail on $26,000 bail each, posted bond and were released, according to correctional officials.
