Porsha Grayson hopes she didn't play her last game.
The senior guard poured in 28 points to help the Golden Valley girls basketball team defeat Atwater 57-43 on Thursday night in the regular season finale.
Now Grayson and her teammates will have to wait to see if they did enough to get into the playoffs.
The Sac-Joaquin Section will release the playoff brackets on Sunday afternoon.
"I held back a lot of tears today," Grayson said. "I didn't want my emotions to interfere with the game.
"I hope we get in the playoffs. All we can do is hope now."
Golden Valley (8-4 Central California Conference, 14-13 overall) came into the week ranked 20th in the Division I power ratings.
GV coach Chris Tufts feels the two wins this week should be enough to get his team in the playoffs.
"It will be an injustice if these girls don't get in the playoffs," Tufts said. "It doesn't matter what team we play -- whether it's Kennedy or Franklin -- we can compete with any team.
"I told the girls expect to make it, but don't be disappointed if we don't get in."
Atwater (3-9 CCC) didn't make it easy for Golden Valley.
Patience Madayag scored five of her nine points in the second quarter as Atwater trailed just 24-23 at the half.
"We knew they would come out on fire in the second half," Atwater coach Jason Boesch said.
"I was hoping we could have weathered the storm a little better."
Grayson led the second-half explosion, scoring 21 points in the final two quarters against Atwater's box-and-one defense.
The sharp-shooter nailed three 3-pointers in the third quarter.
"I think she was a little (upset) at me," Tufts said. "She does pretty well when she's mad.
"I rarely have to get on her, but I called a timeout in the third quarter so I could yell at her.
"I think it fired her up. Hopefully she's not still mad at me."
A playoff berth would definitely bring a smile to Grayson's face.
