My apologies for not including contact info or directions to the La Grange Museum in my story this morning.
I've been living in the country so long, I forgot that not everyone is comfortable with stopping to ask for directions, from the owner of the general store, or the cowboy sitting on his front porch--which is what I did when I got to La Grange last week.
Mostly everyone is friendly there, and it's easy to find:
The Museum's address is:
30168 Yosemite Boulevard, aka Hwy 132, which goes straight through the town.
At one point you'll see the arrow sign pointing to the right, and the road will turn to the right.
But don't turn--go straight, to the left of the arrow sign, and the Museum is located in the stone building on the right.
The cost is free, but donations are accepted.
Hours open are on Sundays from 11 am to 3 pm;
Appointments can be made for a group to visit at other times during the week,
By calling Billee Zanker at (209)853-2450 or Evelyn Welch at (209)853-2112.
