Irene Davi, a rising star in the Latin music scene, will perform Sunday, June 19, wrapping up five nights of headline entertainment at the 2011 Merced County Fair.
The concert will be at 8:30 p.m. in the fairgrounds' Outdoor Theatre.
Each night of the fair, Wednesday, June 15 through Sunday, June 19, a headline entertainment act will play at 8:30 p.m. in the Outdoor Theatre, where all shows are free with admission. The concert series is presented by Table Mountain Casino.
Born and raised in California and Oregon, Davi, 23, has been the opening act for Latin artists including Jenni Rivera, Alicia Villarreal, Freddy Fender and Los Tucanes De Tijuana. She learned her first song "Solamente Una Vez," at the age of 4, while sitting on her grandmother's kitchen counter making tortillas. She was singing professionally by the age of 6.
Davi continued to perform at fairs, festivals and in high school musical productions and launched her career after graduating from high school in Anaheim. You can listen to her debut song, "Prohibido" and check out her video, at www.irenedavi.com.
The 2011 Merced County Fair's Outdoor Theatre entertainment line-up is: Lincoln Brewster, the Christian artist/songwriter who played lead guitar for Steve Perry of Journey fame, Wednesday, June 15; The Charlie Daniels Band playing their mix of rock, country, bluegrass, blues and Gospel music, Thursday, June 16; Morris Day and The Time, who got their start playing with Prince in "Purple Rain" will bring their "old school" sound blended with new music on Friday, June 17 and Starship Starring Mickey Thomas will perform multiplatinum hits of the Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship and Starship on Saturday, June 18.
