Exhibit Opening at the Courthouse Museum
Merced County Courthouse Museum opens “Yosemite Lumber Company at Merced Falls” exhibit at 5 p.m. Thursday. The photo exhibit documents the community life and business operations of Merced Falls and its connected logging camps. In addition, a digital mapping display reconstructs the infrastructure of the sawmill and the living quarters. At the exhibit opening, local historian Grey Roberts will give a PowerPoint presentation titled: “Merced Falls: Once the Industrial Center” at 6 p.m. For more information about the exhibit, contact the Courthouse Museum at 209-723-2401. Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Patrick #1644 will be hosting their annual Bunko Luncheon on Saturday at the Castle Vista Senior Community Center, 2300 Cascade Drive in Atwater. Lunch will be served at noon and Bunko will follow. The cost is $15. Proceeds will benefit the annual scholarship fund. Day of Service at Bloss
Castle Family Health Centers hosts its 11th annual Day of Service at Bloss from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bloss Clinic located at 1251 Grove Ave., Atwater Admission is free. At this Health & Wellness Fair offers free testing and screenings for: Blood Glucose, Blood Pressure, Vision, Glaucoma, Breast Exams, BMI (body mass index). Master Gardeners of Merced

New Beginnings Pancake Fundraiser
New Beginnings for Merced County Animals hosts a pancake breakfast at Applebee's in Merced from 8 to 9:45 a.m. April 7. Enjoy all-you-can-eat bacon, pancakes and a beverage for $10. The event can also be accessed virtually by logging on to New Beginnings' Facebook page. Tickets are available at Valley Animal Hospital, Christina's Fine Clothing and Santa Fe Pet Hospital.
