Castle Air Force Base was busy last weekend as it played host to model airplanes and visitors to the museum's annual Open Cockpit Day.
On the tarmac, the Merced Radio Controlled Model Airplane Club hosted an event for modelers to display their aircrafts and spotlight their flying skills. More than 100 people showed up for the event.
On Sunday, the Castle Air Museum held Open Cockpit Day, allowing visitors to get inside and inspect the military airplanes.
Visitors lined up at the big bombers with kids of all ages wanting to go through them. Bounce houses and food vendors were on site, and helicopter rides were available for an additional cost.
