Foster Farms Dairy is laying off about 30 employees at its milk processing plant in Fresno after losing a contract with a major buyer.
About 22 production workers and eight delivery drivers will be laid off in early May, said Luis Miranda, human resources director at Foster Farm’s corporate headquarters in Modesto.
Foster Farms produces milk under its own label and private labels for grocery store chains.
“It was one of our private-label customers whose volume is being lost,” said Miranda, who declined to disclose the name of the grocery store.
