WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Dennis Cardoza's office said that on Monday, the House Committee on Agriculture conducted a field hearing on the 2012 Farm Bill in Fresno.
The legislation is important to the San Joaquin Valley and California because it establishes federal farm support, as well as programs for conservation, energy, trade, marketing, food assistance and rural development, the congressman's office said in a news release.
During the hearing, the committee received testimony from 11 witnesses representing a wide variety of agricultural interests in California. Cardoza said he encouraged his constituents to share any further comments or opinions with the House Agriculture Committee.
