Crop report shows cotton about 45 percent harvested, 45 percent of wheat planted

A report on crop conditions for Merced County for the week ending Sunday has been released by the Merced County Agricultural Commissioner's office.

The cotton crop is about 40 percent harvested. About 45 percent of winter wheat has been planted, with about 15 percent emerged.

Alfalfa harvest is winding down. Cotton and silage corn harvests continue. New alfalfa planting continues, and the dry bean harvest is complete.

Almond, walnut and wine grape harvests are winding down. Raisin and pistachio harvests are complete.

Sweet potato and radicchio harvests continue. The market tomato harvest is complete.
