Weekly crop report shows cotton about 75 percent harvested

A report on crop conditions for Merced County for the week ending Sunday has been released by the Merced County Agricultural Commissioner's office.

The cotton crop is about 75 percent harvested. About 48 percent of winter wheat has been planted, with about 18 percent emerged.

Alfalfa and silage corn harvests are winding down. The cotton harvest continues, as does new alfalfa planting.

Almond, walnut and wine grape harvests are winding down. Pomegranate harvest continues.

Sweet potato and radicchio harvests continue.

Pasture and range conditions are good, with supplemental feeding of hay and nutrients to livestock continuing.
