A report on crop conditions for Merced County for the week ending Nov. 21 has been released by the Merced County Agricultural Commissioner’s office.
The winter wheat crop is in good shape, with about 25 percent emerged. The cotton harvest is 85 percent complete. Silage corn harvest is winding down. Cotton harvest continues, as does new alfalfa planting. Alfalfa harvest is complete.
Pomegranate harvest is winding down. Almond, walnut and wine grape harvests are complete.
Sweet potato and radicchio harvests continue.
Pasture and range conditions are good, with supplemental feeding of hay and nutrients to livestock continuing.-- Carol Reiter
