A workshop for growing agritourism in the San Joaquin Valley and Foothills region will be held Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the UC Cooperative Extension Merced County, 2145 Wardrobe Ave. in Merced.
The workshop is sponsored by the UC Small Farm Program, the UC Cooperative Extension and the Sierra Nevada Conservancy. If reservations are made by Jan. 10, the fee for the workshop is $20, which includes continental breakfast, lunch and handouts. After Jan. 10 the fee is $25.The workshop will share the latest in agritourism development and marketing tools, help regional operators and professionals organize and promote agritourism, discuss common challenges and opportunities and will help build a stronger infrastructure for successful agritourism in the region.
