Woman accused of attempting to deliver drugs to Chowchilla prison

A 47-year-old Los Angeles woman was charged Sunday with felony drug crimes, accused of transporting methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana into a Chowchilla prison.

The Madera County sheriff's department said today that Brenda Harper, also known as Geraldine Harper, was accused of trying to take the drugs into the Central California Women's Facility by concealing them on her body.

The drugs were detected and Harper taken into custody by the facility's staff Sunday afternoon, then moved to the Madera County jail, the sheriff's department said.

Bail was set at $50,000.
