Arson is suspected in a fire early this morning at an elementary school near Chowchilla, which caused about $30,000 damage to playground equipment.
The equipment was on fire when Madera County firefighters responded to the blaze at Fairmead Elementary School about 1 a.m. Lights mounted outside two classrooms also were destroyed.
The Madera County Fire Department have no suspects at this time.
