A 15-year-old boy is in custody on suspicion of creating graffiti after Merced police reported finding him with spray paint, not far from a vandalized brick fence.Police arrived at the scene, in the area of Park and West Alexander avenues, after receiving a call from a citizen. The citizen directed the officers to the suspect by cell phone, police said.Officers Jeff Gonzales and Frank Bazzar approached the suspect, who tossed away a can of blue spray paint. The suspect was apprehended without any resistance, police said.The suspect told the officers that a friend had given him the spray paint, saying that he is also responsible for graffiti in Modesto. The same teenager was arrested in late August on suspicion of felony vandalism, possession of marijuana and possession of graffiti tools, police said.He was booked into Merced County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of misdemeanor graffiti and possession of graffiti tools.
