The Merced Courthouse Museum said its “Many A Page Has Been Turned” exhibit will open April 15 at the museum.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Merced County Library. Like many other counties in the state, the Merced County library system was the vision of State Librarian James Gillis. First County Librarian Antoinette Humphreys opened the main library in Merced and eight branch libraries from 1910 to 1911.
The exhibit explores the challenge of founding a public library system and celebrates a century of service to the community. California State Librarian Stacy Aldrich will be the guest speaker at the opening reception at 6 p.m. For more information, please call 7(209) 23-2401 or visit www.mercedmuseum.org.
